Biographical/Historical note
The Ebbw Vale Workmens Medical Society erected a General Hospital in 1901 and enlarged it in 1909. The Ebbw Vale Voluntary Hospital Fund commenced in 1922 and opened a Voluntary Hospital in 1926. An agreement of amalgamation was signed in 1945 and amalgamation was achieved in 1946.
