Biographical/Historical note

Tintern Abbey and surrounding lands were purchased by the Crown Estate from the Duke of Beaufort in 1901. F.W Waller was a Gloucester based architect engaged on protective works for Tintern Abbey and buildings of the Tintern Abbey estate c.1901-1914.

Repairs made to the north transept window and the large west window of nave (Feb 1911), also particulars of the repair work needed to preserve the Abbey from further deterioration (August 23 1913) with estimate of costs (approx. £6,000). 10 May 1909-25 Apr 1914
